Unusual and Interesting Photos

Part 1

1) I think that these photos are really cool. I think that they show ver good examples of simplicity because your eye is drawn to the buildings due to the plain background. I love how you see the buildings at three different angles. That makes the building look like two identical buildings are emerging from it.

2) Im not sure how he made these photos. I think he may have shook the camera while he was taking the image or he may duplicated the photo and used digital art to blur the two other buildings into the background.

3) I think 2 buildings that would look good like this are the Texas capital building and the Seattle space needle because these buildings are so tall that it would look interesting in kaleidoscope form. 
The Texas capital building is in Austin Texas and I would have easy access to it because I could easily drive there in under an hour. The Seattle space needle is in Seattle, Washington. I don't have as 
easy access because I would have to take a plane to get there. 

Part 2

1) I picked this photo because I thought that it was really cool that the photographer made the football player look as if he was flying.
2) I found this photo Sports Action- SPA.
3) This image won third place. 
4) The way the photographer captured the moment the football player was falling attracted my eye because it looks like the football player is flying in order to make a touchdown.
5) I think that the subject of the photo weighed in a lot ith the judges because they picked this image in 3rd place. I believe they did this because the subject is very clear, interesting, and dynamic. 
6) i think this photographer had to get low to the ground or lay/squat down to get this photo.

Part 3

1) I think that the three most important paintings for photographers are The Mona Lisa by Leonardo De Vinci, The School of Athens by Raphael and The Girl with the Pearl Earring by Johannes Vermeer.

4) The photographer captured Johannes Vermeer's rule of window light.5) I think this style of painting/photography would influence me the most because i love how the light is captured in the subjects eyes and how the light lights up the peoples faces.

The Story 

I think this photo shows the best story. This photograph shows the best story because the students gathering around the pole are bowing their heads down. This could mean that they have some sort of game and they are praying to win. When the students bow their heads, it portrays a sense of suspense and the light shining on them from the horizon gives you the feeling of hope.

Action and Emotion 

I think this photo is the best example of action. This photograph shows the best example of action because there are bits of debris rocketing above the two girls head. Also this is a good example of emotion because the girls reaction to the experiment show that they were surprised and thought the experiments' debris was cool.

Filling the Frame 

I think that this image was a great example of filling the frame. I thought that it was a good example of filling the frame because there is a lot going on in the photograph. The photograph is filled with very vibrant colors. 

PART 2

1) My favorite picture was the picture of the girl squirting the pink substance into the bubbling black bowl. This is my favorite picture because the bubbling substance is really clear and vibrant. I think its really cool how the focus is on the pink substance instead of the girl. 

2) The rules of photography that are in this image are balance and lines. This image shows balance because the girl fits and the bowl fit into the image perfectly. This image also shows lines because the line of the substance running don the side of the bowl draws your eye to the boiling substance, 

                                                                                                                                                                                  

1) I think I could take photos like the ones I saw today in a science classroom during an experiment or in any academic room that is doing an activity. 

2) I would like to take pictures in either my english or geography because these classes do a lot of group work. 

3) To get amazing pictures like I saw today I can pay very close attention to the basic rules of photography. 

Photo Manipulation and Ethics

      1. Ethics in the Age of Digital Manipulation
a. Digital manipulation has become a bit of a problem in the world today. It has became a problem because when the photographers edit their photos they are committing a terminal offense against the people in the photograph. Many people are using digital manipulation to improve the photos but when they do that, the photographers aren't conveying the truth in their photographs.
b. I think that this editing is unacceptable because when the photographers digitally manipulate their photographs, they're no longer conveying the truth. If the photographers said they they had digitally edited their photograph[s] then it would be acceptable.
      2. Most Unethical

I thought that this photograph was unethical. I thought it was unethical because the photograph on the left was made darker. It was made darker to make the man seem more menacing and evil which does not portray the truth.
      3. Least Unethical 

I didn't think that this picture was as unethical because all it did was change the woman's teeth so they look straight.

Biography Of Ansel Adams

Ansel Adams was born February 20, 1902 in San Francisco, California.  His family migrated from  New England to California.  When he was about four years old, Ansel Adams was injured inane earth quake. An aftershock threw him into a garen wall which resulted in his nose being crooked for the rest of his life. Ansel adams had a bad attitude and was dismissed from several schools so his parents got him a private tutor when he was 12.  

In 1916 Ansel Adams started to experiment with photography on a vacation to Yosemite National Park. He enjoyed photography so much that he went to clubs and sold his early pictures at Best's Studio in Yosemite Valley. 

Adams' had his first breakthrough when he published Parmelian Prints of the High Sierras. The Parmelian Prints of the High Sierras included his famous picture, Monolith, The Face of Half Dome. 

Between 1929 and 1942, Adams developed a reputation from his photography.  His work focused on  detailed close-ups and mountains and factories. Soon enough he began to publish essays and books on photography with a few of his colleagues. 

Soon enough Adams joined up with Dorothea Lange and Walker Evans to affect political and physical change through their photography.  Adams first cause was protecting the wildlife in Yosemite  He also photographed the camps of the Japanese camps after World War 2 to show the injustice during the wartime. 

In the 1960s people started appreciating Ansel Adams work a lot more. Adams images were shown in large galleries and many museums. 

In 1974, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York hosted an exhibit for Ansel Adams. 

Adam  had a heart attack on April 22,  1984 at the age of 82.

Merger

I believe this merger picture of Jaye shows a pretty good example of what not to do when taking a picture. I think that this picture shows good balance because the photo of Jaye is pretty symmetrical.

Bowie

I think that this image shows rule of thirds because the be and the bulldog are each on one of the corners of the hashtag/pound sign. Also I think that this image conveys simplicity because the backround of the trailer is a plain white color that instantly draws you eye to the bulldog. 

Happy

I believe that the picture of Jaye conveys lines because in the backround you can see how far away she is from the academic building.  I think that the picture I took of the flower conveys framing because the post in the backround somewhat frames the yellow flowers and I think it also contains balance because the photo is very symmetrical.
