•  How long how have you had your car? I have had my car for about seven years now. 
•  Why does your car have so many books in it? When i take my kids somewhere, they need something to do so they don't get antsy so i buy them picture books. 
•  Why are there so many takeout bags in your car? Because, as a working mom, I don't always have time to make dinner so go through drive throughs with my kids. jadon is the messiest one though. He always forgets to take in his trash. 
•  What model is your car?  I drive a minivan.

Story: 
My old neighbor, Mrs. Justine, was kind enough to let me raid her car. I moved into a house right by hers about ten years ago and have lived by her up until last year. I decided to raid her car because she is always driving around from place to place. 
As a working mom, Ms. Justine needs a car to chauffeur her kids and drive herself.  In order to do that, she needs a car that is reliable and can fit a bunch of people. So she chose to, "...drive a minivan."
She has been driving her minivan, "...for about 7 years now." 
Most people don't like minivans because they are branded as the "mom car". "[She doesn't] really [like driving a minivan], [she] only drive[s] this old minivan because it works well for carpooling all of [her] kids and their friends around.''
She has books and various child toys cluttering her car," When  [she] take[s] [her]  kids somewhere, they need something to do so they don't get antsy, so [she] buy[s] them picture books." 
Along with the books and child toys, Mrs. Justine has takeout bass sprawled out all over her car. " Because, as a working mom, [she doesn't] always have time to make dinner so [she goes] through drive throughs with [her] kids. Jadon is the messiest one though. He always forgets to take in his trash."

People in the United States have been arguing over who has the best phone. The two devices that people argue about the most are the apple iPhones and the samsung android. For many years people all over the world have been arguing over which device is better. I personally agree that iPhone is much better because the iPhone is very common, more visually appealing and have better graphics in the apps and the home screen. 

Apple delivers iPhone updates to devices that are three years old, while android updates take months to arrive on all the devices. Also, if an Android phone is over one year old, you may need to wait for a new Android smartphone to get the new update.

The iPhone has a much higher resale price than the Android. If you sell your one-year-old or two-year-old Android smartphone, even a flagship device, you will often get much less than you paid.

When you sell an older iPhone, it is easy to find offers of almost double the value of an Android phone that came out at the same exact time as the same iPhone.

Apple makes communicating with other iPhone and iPad owners much easier. They have multiple pre-installed apps that allow for fast and simple connectivity with other users who own an apple iPhone or other various devices.

iMessage allows people with an iPhone to send longer messages at one time and the messages can go to any Apple device that user owns. FaceTime provides a great way to video chat and unlike Hangouts in the android.

On the other hand, Androids have a microSD card slot, so that you can easily and cheaply buy more storage space.When you buy an iPhone, you're stuck with as much storage that you decide to buy at the moment. 

Also You can use any micro-USB cable to charge an Android phone. Apple devices require a flimsy iPhone lightning cable which are more expensive and more fragile. 

You can also replace an androids battery if it starts glitching. If the battery on an iPhone glitches, you either need to get a new phone or go down to the apple store to get one of the ITs to fix your device for you.

 On an iPhone, you can unlock your phone with your fingerprint or a passcode of your choice. On most Android devices, you have several additional options, including patterns or unlocking the phone with facial recognition.

In addition to the previous perks of an android, on a couple of Android phones, you can open and see multiple apps on the android device or devices at once.

In conclusion, even though androids have some features iPhones don't iPhones are better than androids because they are more visually appealing than androids, iPhones have more advanced updates for their users, iPhones have a much higher resale price than android device and you can communicate with friends or family or coworkers much better with various pre-installed apps on the iPhone devices.

You might start by describing a fine detail (your personal experience or perspective, a specific moment in the narrative), then open up the lens to take in the wide view (the general/global backdrop), then close the piece by narrowing back to the fine detail. Earthquake story

At 8:12 am PDT, an earthquake struck San Francisco. It had a magnitude of 6.4 on the Richter scale. When the earthquake occurred it caused  McHenry’s Auto Supply at 2342 Plum St. to partially collapse and it killed 2 people and injured 6.

As the authorities are trying to find out who the victims are Jennifer Vu, a public information officer from the Hayward Fire Department, is told of the families wishes. "Names of the dead are being withheld pending notifications of families," Vu said.

Hayward resident Mike Beamer, whose apartment is across the street from McHenry’s, said he felt a rolling motion that lasted for about 30 seconds, with a big jolt coming in the middle. “I was eating my breakfast when the room started rolling. I dove under the table just as I heard an explosion outside and a chunk of cement flew through my kitchen window. That’s when the screaming start across the street.”

The quake was so strong, Hayward firefighters had to use ropes to stabilize the auto supply shop. The epicenter of the earthquake, which had a magnitude of 6.4 on the Richter scale, was under the Hayward Hills, according to Penny Gertz, a scientist from the U.S. Geological Survey in Menlo Park. Gertz called the quake a “strong one” and said it occurred on the Hayward Fault, which runs under the hills.

Luckily the police were on call for emergencies like the quake. "Twenty-one fire personnel, 12 police and five American Red Cross workers responded to the building collapse, with some arriving within four minutes of the quake", Vu said.

Three of the six people injured who were in McHenry’s Auto Supply when the quake occured were hurt seriously enough to require hospitalization and were transported to Hayward General Hospital.  "No other serious injuries have been reported in Hayward." Vu reported. 

"People as far south as Los Angeles and as far north as Redding felt the quake," Gertz said.

Huntington story

 At 10 pm in Barstow California, 53 year old Janice Jones, got shot in the leg when her dog fired her 9 mm handgun. The bullet went through her right leg and through side of there car. 

According to California Highway Patrol press liaison Tammy Rye, Janice jones was eating pork chops in the back of her motor home, which was parked on Beach Boulevard near Highway 1, when her dog knocked her 9 mm handgun off a seat. Even though the bullet passed through Jones' right leg and through side of the vehicle, Jones knew it wasn't as bad as it could've been.  “It could have been worse,” Rye said. “The bullet hit two inches from the gas tank.”

Jones dog was named Tombo and was  placed in the care of the Huntington Beach Animal Control officers after the incident. The dog seemed to be malnourished, according to Janet Ngo, one of the animal control officers, and had fresh cigarette burns on its forehead. “It could have done with a little less abuse and a few more of those pork chops,” Ngo said.Ngo is filing animal abuse charges against Jones.

 Rye said officers cited Jones for expired plates and the county’s district attorney’s office was considering whether to charge her in relation to the gun accident because she isn't allowed to own the gun. "Jones doesn’t have a permit for the gun," Rye said.

    Even though Ella Wright wasn't inspired to achieve student of the month with her academic skills and involvement in school activities, Carroll Shelby was her inspiration for the remarkable engine.Carroll Shelby was an American automotive designer, racing driver, and entrepreneur."Carroll Shelby inspired me build the solar panel because she is the builder of the engine and shelby mustang." Wright explained.   
    When Ella wright was asked about things that helped her become student of the month she said something very interesting.  "Don't slack in your classes or be on  your phone all the time." Wright replied. Many students at James Bowie High School are on their phones very frequently, so her statement was very surprising. 
    Students who are trying to become the next Student of the Month should get involved in school activities like Ella Wright. ""Yes I'm in GSA club, engineer club, and astrology club."Wright exclaimed. One of the best ways to get accepted as a student of the month is to get very involved in extracurriculars and get stellar grades. 
     "I won't try hard to become student of the month again  just like this time, [ I ] don't want to over achieve."

The nut graf puts the article in context and helps you understand what has happened. Overall it is the point of the story in a nutshell.
Its called a nut graf because it contains the main theme of the story like a nut contains a kernel. The nut graf tells you why the story is worth reading and why you should care about the content in the story. It can also tell you the message of the story you are about to read.
